Great Salt Lick Contest Rules

All entries must be salt blocks licked by cows or other livestock. Range blocks licked by wildlife will also be permitted. Blocks licked by humans will not be permitted. Licks may be subject to DNA testing. Blocks with human DNA will be eliminated and offenders banned from future contests.

Please wash your block off (and yourself!) before entering.

Which category you are entering your block in? Only one category is allowed.  Drop off entries at Richland Feed & Seed in Richland, Oregon Trail Livestock Supply in Baker, Churchill Art Center in Baker. Replacement blocks will be supplied by Richland Feed & Seed and Oregon Trail Livestock Supply. The sculptures will be auctioned with all proceeds going to the Parkinson Center of Oregon, OHSU (Parkinson’s and salt?*). Questions? Call Whit Deschner @ 541-519 2736 email deschnerwhit@yahoo.com

Please submit entries by September 9. No more than 1 entry per person. Judging committee will judge blocks for originality and artistic flair. All different types of blocks are eligible (mineral, selenium etc.) Blocks only. Drawings, photos, paintings of sculpted blocks will not be accepted. Cows caught using steroids will be canned. Mad cows will be eligible for psychiatric treatment.

This event will take place at Churchill School Arts Center, in Baker City, September 16th Saturday. Block viewing starts at 5:30 PM, Auction begins at 6:30 PM. Mib Daily will, as usual, be the auctioneer.
